There was a real red carpet at the 2021 Oscars. Though it wasn’t as grand as previous years. (For obvious reasons.) But there were still lots of stars and gorgeous gowns to fawn over. And several trends reigned supreme.
First, there were the golden looks as striking as the Oscar statuette. Carey Mulligan wowed in a glistening Valentino haute couture creation. Andra Day’s sparkling Vera Wang made a statement. She even flashed some strategic skin, another trend.
White and red were also favored. Amanda Seyfried’s crimson Armani Privé gown served plenty of Old Hollywood glamour. Reese Witherspoon’s pleated Christian Dior featured a dynamic neckline. Meanwhile, Viola Davis’ custom Alexander McQueen white hot dress boasted an intricate bodice.
