Miley Cyrus released her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, on March 10, along with new single "River" and accompanying music video. The never-ending summer vacation is described as Cyrus' love letter to Los Angeles and the confidence she has regained since focusing on her mental and physical well-being.
The new album has only been released in a few select countries and has already topped the iTunes charts in 45 countries including Australia, India, New Zealand and the UK.
While River and Endless Summer Vacation launched on YouTube, a special Endless Summer Vacation streaming session (Backyard Sessions) simulcast on Disney+ Hotstar. On the live show, Cyrus performed his new songs, including the hit Flowers and the multi-platinum hit The Climb.

River, part of Endless Summer Vacation, is an upbeat pop number whose lyrics compare its partner to a river. The clip was shot entirely in black and white and features Cyrus performing on stage in a halter jumpsuit and heels.
Previously, the 30-year-old American singer-songwriter teased fans by taking a look at the song. In an Instagram clip shared by Disney+ Hotstar on March 8, Cyrus revealed the inspiration behind the single. "It was a time in my life where I went through a lot emotionally and personally. All of my songs evolve. You can start as something that was a problem, like it's an April rain, it doesn't never stops raining, then it started raining love."

The "Endless Summer Vacation" track listing begins with "Flowers" and ends with a demo version of the popular song. Jaded, Rose Colored Lenses, Thousand Miles (featuring Brandi Carlile) and Muddy Feet (featuring Sia) are among the 10 songs included on the new album. While Flowers is a perfect revenge song, Jaded is an emotional breakup song with lyrics like "Ain't it too bad it ended like this / You said goodbye forever but you never got away open?"
The phrase "Endless Summer Vacation" appears countless times on the album's third song, Rose Colored Lenses, which is literally about wearing rose-tinted glasses to be in love forever.
